Tamils' Information
We have come a long way since 1991 in our journey of serving the community and are now celebrating our 35th year of publication with our April 12, issue (2025). This is certainly a historic moment for us and we take pride in looking back at our successful journey.
We are immensely thankful to our community for their continued support and encouragement over the years. At this point we wish to emphasize that Tamils' Information is a completely community funded publication and we do not receive any form of financial assistance from any government agencies what so ever.
Editor in Chief
The Editor in Chief of the Tamils' Information Mr. Thiru S. Thiruchelvam is a veteran journalist with over sixty (60) years experience in both print and electronic media. He was awarded as as an outstanding editor by the Canadian Ethnic Media Association (CEMA) for editing an cultural sensitivity in the monthly magazine Tamils' Information in the year 1998. He received special awards from the Mayor of Toronto and the Ontario Government at the International Year of Volunteerism celebrations in 2001.
Mr. Thiruchelvam is one of the first recipients of the Ontario government's 'Newcomer Champion Award' in 2007. He received the 'June Callwood outstanding Achievement Award' from the Ministry of Citizenship in 2012. The Tamil Literary Garden of Canada honored him with an special Award in 2019 for his outstanding contribution in the field of media and literature for over fifty years . Mr. Thiruchelvam was the pioneer editor of two Tamil dailies in Sri Lanka.
